WACO CENTRAL (TX) LINKS, INCORPORATED ANNUAL LUNCHEON
WACO, Texas: The Waco Central (TX) Chapter of The Links, Inc. will sponsor the “Hats Off to Those Lighting the Way in Our Community” luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at the McLennan Community College Conference Center.
The event will include an afternoon of entertainment and recognition of community leaders.
This year’s honorees are:
Dr. David Reynolds, Pastor of Greater Vision Community Church in Killeen
Officer Patricia Thomas, Fort Hood Police Department
Dr. Andreis J. Avots, Temple Scott & White
Waco City Councilwoman Andrea Barefield
Attorney/Professor Pat Wilson and Mike
Entertainment will be provided by JZ Strings, a noted 17-year-old musical prodigy who attended the 2018 Berkley School of Music Summer Program. Jasmin Caldwell, of KCEN TV, will serve as emcee.
Tickets are $40 each, and proceeds will benefit scholarships for local high school graduates.
The Links, Incorporated, founded in 1946, is one of the oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
The Waco Central (TX) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, was founded in 1974 and is proud to be a contributing member of the Central Texas community.
